wearing: dress from sister, cardigan from river island, shoes from dorothy perkins, necklace from  river island

The summer has really gone now and we have had four straight days of rain and I am pretty sure it is set to rain for the next 6 weeks straight. This outfit was from a couple of days ago which was like the last day of sun so I decided to wear this summer dress which was given to me by my sister. I thought it would be the last day I could wear a dress without tights. This dress is really cutesy and I love the beachy feel to it with the red and white stripes. The length is really flattering but this is my only dress of this length. I will have to stock up when spring comes again.

This week has been really hectic with A LOT of Spanish homework and science stuff. I'm settling to doing my A levels now though so things are calming down a bit :)

ELLE- 1952

There was one thing I neglected to show you from my trip to Paris, the 1952 French Elle I bought on one of the artist stalls by the river. I obviously can't read a word of what it says but it is awesome just to look at the pictures and to see the amazing dresses and coats that fill the pages. It was the issue showing the new age dresses because fabric rationing had just ended. People were so shocked that you could wear floor length dresses with plenty of ruffle without having to scrounge for practically a year. It is so hard to think that people were so restricted by how much fabric they could buy that clothes were often made from tablecloths and curtains. We live in such a consumerist society today that we can practically buy as much as we want and internet shopping has made that so much easier.

wearing:  top from new look, skirt from h&m, boots from forever 21

I decided to mix two American races today by wearing my fringed native American/red Indian t-shirt which I have treasured for a while now. I love hoe the fringing is cut straight into the design rather than being added on later because it gives it a really home-made vibe (I actually had people asking me how I could do it so neatly). I paired it with my denim, Aztec print skirt because I loved the contrast between the relaxed t-shirt and the tight skirt. I finally added my forever 21 boots to throw in a toughed up explorer vibe. Well at least that's what I thought these boots portrayed.

Finally getting back into the swing of things school wise but having trouble taking pictures after school before the sun sinks too low behind the house. Ah well I guess that is just a sign that winter is coming soon.

Recently I had an over email interview with Jennifer Wang for Art In Our Blood ( She has just had her one year blog anniversary so I decided to ask her some questions about her blog and her style.

Why did you first decide to create your own blog?

I wanted to get involved at as an early age as I could with the fashion industry so I could network and find and audience to, most importantly, see my fashion design work.

How has your blog evolved from when it first started?

It's definitely becoming more professional and I view it in a very business like manner. I definitely put a lot more time into writing quality posts and making sure I'm spread out on different social media outlets.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

Becoming friends with some of the other lookbookers! It's really crazy when you have admired someone for their style for so long and now you are friends with them! And of course, I'm very thankful for the opportunity to receive sponsored clothing. It allows me to have tons more freedom to experiment with my style without hurting my wallet.

How long do you spend picking out your outfits each day?

What I usually do is pick out three or four outfits for the week on the weekend beforehand, which on average, takes an hour because I try lots of different combos.

What is your favourite item of clothing at the moment?

My Jeffrey Campbell x Wasteland Coltranes!!

A dress she made for one of her classes
And finally, what advice would you give to someone who has just started a fashion blog?

Layout and photo quality do matter a lot. Even if you have really good style, it will be a lot harder to gain a following without these two elements. The best way to go with the layout is clean and as minimalistic as you can get it so your photos are the things that stand out. And with photos, I recommend buying a DSLR (Digital SLR camera) and learning how to utilize all the features on it.

You should all go check out Jennifer's blog if you haven't already because all her outfits are so cool and unique and her photography is pretty ace as well. She is one of my big inspirations as a blogger and I want my style to be as individual and fun loving as hers.

I also have converted one of my old twitter accounts into my fashion blog twitter account. Go follow me, @KatyFerenczy for updates and random musings.

Just so snaps from my long weekend to Paris. The whole city is gorgeous and I instantly fell in love with it. I'm going back as soon I can. We spend the weekend just wandering the streets of the city and doing the touristy stuff like climbing the Eiffel Tower. Also, because we were there the first Sunday of the month we got free access to the Louvre which was awesome because I absolutely love art galleries. One of my favourite things was going to the Gallerie Lafayette which is the massive department store. All the designer clothes imploded my brain. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford anything but it was great to look around.

wearing: shirt and necklace from grandma, skirt from river island, shoes from paris, cross ring
from topshop, watch from spain

So today was the first day of school so i decided to show you my outfit. I live in England and up to year 11 (10th grade) you have to wear uniform. Today was my first day in year 12 so I can finally wear my own clothes to school. I went for quite a classic look with a velvet shirt I got from my grandma and this 60's geometric print skirt from Chelsea Girl at River Island. However I decided to mix it up with my new studded high tops which relaxed the outfit (perfect for a first day at school).
I also decided to shoot in my garden today because the sun was shining and I had more time than usual. I think I may shoot there much more because the pictures look so much better. Anyway I hope you had a great first day back at school or work or whatever.

all photos from tumblr

So I'm currently in Paris but I thought I would queue a inspiration post for you guys. As you can probably tell this post is about sweaters. They are the highlight of the autumn season and great for back to school. They are cosy, fashionable and just plain awesome. I have a hard time buying sweaters and jumpers because I am allergic to wool so I have to be really careful what I buy. However, recently I found a lovely army green sweater from New Look that I can wear without itching (hurrah!). I'm sure you will see it in a imminent outfit post because I have literally been wearing it non stop since I bought it last week.

Hope you are enjoying the end of the summer/the start of the new school season.
